Dr. Kareem Merrick is a Washington, DC native and graduate of Howard University College of Arts and Sciences with a major in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. Dr. Merrick then went on to attend Howard University College of Dentistry and graduated in 2009 becoming a Doctor of Dental Surgery.
During his tenure at Howard University, Dr. Merrick was elected as an Undergraduate Trustee and was an MBRS Research Scholar, a Barbara Jordan Health Policy Scholar, a Project Excellence Scholar, a Robert C. Byrd Scholar, and a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated Beta Chapter.
Upon graduating from Howard University College of Dentistry, he completed his General Practice Residency at Interfaith Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York in 2010.
Dr. Merrick became the youngest Director of Oral Health Services at Harlem United, one of the largest Federally Qualified Health Care Centers in New York City. During this time he served as a Faculty Instructor of Clinical Dental Medicine at Columbia University College of Dentistry and New York University Advanced Education General Dentistry Programs.
Dr. Merrick then went on to become the Vice President of Dental Services at SunRiver Health.
Dr. Merrick was the Chief Dental Officer of Gotham Health of New York Health and Hospitals, where he led multiple dental clinics serving every borough in the city of New York. He also designs Dental Mobile Units dedicated to integrating socially and economically disenfranchised people into a healthy and healing community.
Dr. Merrick is a proud Associate General Dentist at Dental Smile-Savers. He provides a wide range of services including, but not limited to, Cosmetic Dentistry, Teeth Whitening, Full mouth rehabilitation, Extractions, Laser gingival contouring, and Root canal therapy.
